Railroad to Cut Cost

The trustees of the bankrupt Penn Central Railroad are proposing to cut costs by abandoning the 3 mile Bloomfield branch from Roaring Spring to Ore Hill, the 8.2 mile Springfield branch from Ganister to Ormenia, and the line between Williamsburg and Alexandria, which stretches 11.3 miles, but was heavily damaged by flooding..
