ORDINANCE NOTICE

NOTICE is given that the Council of the Borough of Martinsburg will consider an Ordinance at its regular meeting to be held on March 6, 2023, at 7:00 pm at 110 South Walnut St., Martinsburg, PA, prohibiting the drilling of water wells within the Borough, a summary of which is as follows:

Upon adoption of the Ordinance, it would be a violation to drill a water well within the Borough limits. A fine between $300 and $600 may be levied against any person or legal entity (owner, tenant, purchaser, etc.) violating the ordinance including any drilling contractor. The Ordinance preserves the right of the Borough and the Martinsburg Municipal Authority to drill any well as may be needed for the water supply system.

A full text of the Ordinance may be examined by any citizen at the Borough Building at the address listed above, any business day, Monday through Friday, 8 am to noon and 1 pm to 4:30. A copy of the proposed Ordinance is also available at the Blair County Law Library, Blair County Courthouse, 423 Allegheny Street, Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania.
