Students Participate in Dance

Cheryl Dickson of Martinsburg was one of 564 PSU students who participated in the 26th annual IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon held Feb 20-22 at the Mary Beaver White building on the Penn State campus. The money raised from the event went to the Four Diamonds Fund. The event raised $2 million, the largest amount ever raised.

Brianna Kennedy, a Central High School senior, was one of 350 high school students from across the nation chosen to attend the National Young Leaders Conference in Washington D.C. She will participate in the “Model Congress”, in which students assume the roles of United States Representatives and debate, amend and vote on prospective legislation.

News Printing Company of Claysburg received a new contract to print and distribute Patents for the U. S. Patent and Trademark Office. NPC printed approximately 2,500 patents every week, and that was expected to increase to 3,800 by June, 1998.
