Bountiful Blooms, Thanks to Kathy Mellott

After reading Kathy Mellott's article from the Feb. 16 edition of the Herald, Millie Baker, now resident at Cross Keys Village in New Oxford, decided to try her hand at forced blooming.

"I used the twigs and branches from a pruning done to a flowering cherry tree in my front yard about 3 weeks ago," Baker said.

After seeing success in her forced blooming, Baker told her church, Hanover Church of the Brethren about it during her sermon on Feb. 19.

"Seeing twigs turn to blossoms made the children's jaws drop as well as others in the congregation," Baker said.
