Disease Found in Deer

Herald of March 7, 2013

Three cases of Chronic Wasting Disease were found in whitetail deer harvested during the 2012 firearms season. The deer were taken in South Woodbury Township, Bedford County, and Freedom Township and Frankstown Township in Blair County. These were considered the first cases of CWD in free-range deer in Pennsylvania.

The computer system for the Martinsburg Borough Police Department crashed. The cost to replace the server was estimated at $1,500, but it was expected to be compatible with new equipment and software used by the department.
