SCSB Cites Title IX in Response to Parent Complaints

The issue of a transgender male student using the boys’ locker room for gym and boys’ restrooms was brought up as a concern by parent Misty Fisher at Spring Cove School Board’s committee of the whole board of directors meeting on Monday, Feb. 13. This was again a main topic of discussion at the regular school board meeting a week later.

The district solicitor, Attorney Jenn Dambeck from Beard Legal Group, summed it up by stating, “If you are getting federal funds, you must follow Title IX.”
