Taylor Steele of Hopewell finished fifth in the Willow Junior 100 Sled Dog Race with a total time of 9 hours, 48 minutes and 24 seconds. The race started and ended in Wasilla, Alaska, with 50 miles out and 50 miles back.. After a week’s rest, she entered the Junior Iditarod Sled Dog Race and finished 7th of 13.

The Spring Cove School Board awarded a five year busing contract to Leidy/Carbaugh Transportation of Woodbury, beginning at the start of the 2013-14 school year.
