A crowd of approximately 100 Williamsburg area residents came to a borough council meeting to voice their opposition to a substantial increase in water rates. The new minimum rate would jump from $19 per quarter to $66.79 a quarter, and sewer rates would increase $3.50 to $38.50 per quarter. Despite the protests, the council approved the rate increase.
