Dragon Baseball Crushes Trojans

After opening week, in which the Dragons found two overwhelming victories of 14-7 and 15-5 against the Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders and the Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils respectively, Central then faced the Johnstown Trojans to have another empowering success, finding a 15-0 victory. Jeff Hoenstine and Luke Bettwy each had two hits, which included a double, and had two RBI’s each. Baron Dionis had a double along with a few other hits to drive in four runs throughout the game. Trenten Butler also drove in two runs to round out the Dragons offense. Despite the impressive offense, the Dragons held their own on the defensive end as well. Throughout the course of the game, pitcher Kaleb Mountain threw a one-hitter along with three strikeouts in the defensive effort. After this victory, the Dragons’ record jumps to 3-0, as they prepare to face the Richland Rams and the Bishop McCourt Crushers in the upcoming week.
