Don Appleman resigned as coach of the Williamsburg High School girl’s varsity basketball team after ten years. Appleman finished his career with 474 wins, 401 at Williamsburg and 73 at Central. Appleman was inducted into the Blair County Sports Hall of Fame in 2012.

Holocaust survivor Dr. Eva Olsson of Canada brought her story to the Claysburg-Kimmel High School. She told of her experiences as a young woman in the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, and reminded students of the importance of not being a bystander to injustice.
