Column Sparks Memory of Store Photo

After reading Kathy Mellott's article about New Enterprise general stores in the Feb. 23, 2023, edition of the Morrisons Cove Herald, Robert Loose recalled having the photo above. He believes this C.O. Brumbaugh store was located at the main intersection of New Enterprise. Loose estimates it was taken in the early 1900s. Only two of the men were identified in the photo. Loose's mother, Elizabeth Hoffman Loose, grew up in the home located at the intersection of Replogle School Road and Potter Creek Road. The former Hoffman mill was located there until the 1940s.
