Park Gets Some Improvements

Herald of May 4, 1923

The Snyder Memorial Park will have some needed improvements in time for the opening of the season. A permanent refreshment stand will be built and a children’s playground will be fitted up with some pieces of amusements for the little folk.

Community Daily Vacation Bible School for the community of Martinsburg will meet daily except Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. for a period of two weeks, beginning Monday, May 14 and lasting until June 1. Its very definite purpose is to convert the idle time of boys and girls into definite religious and moral training, and thus make our children safe for home and nation.

Mrs. Kathryn Myers, who is afflicted with blood poison in her arm, was removed to the Altoona hospital on Sunday afternoon for treatment.

On Friday evening of last week the Senior class of the Martinsburg High school gave their class play “The Camouflage of Shirley” in the D’Ford theatre to a large and appreciative audience.
