Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:

Many people may know Dave Consiglio as an attorney but I have personally known Dave for over 40 years. He is the clear choice for representing the citizens of Blair County as a Judge of the Court of Common Pleas. As a young man growing up in Blair County, he displayed leadership qualities, dedication and tenacity that helped him develop into an outstanding student that led him to The University of Notre Dame and, ultimately to pursue his law degree at the University of North Carolina. Dave and his wife Lisa could have gone anywhere to raise a family but they chose to come back to Blair County. Blair County was a place where Consiglio was born and raised in a safe, close knit community and he wanted the same for his children and grandchildren. Consiglio is someone I have been close to for many years and I can attest to his qualities of being fair, moral and a constitutional conservative. In my opinion, there is no one more qualified for judge than Dave Consiglio and I ask that you cast your vote for Dave on May 16th.

Over these past months, I’ve had the opportunity to observe and evaluate the perspectives and agendas of the various candidates in the upcoming elections for a seat on the Blair County Court of Common Pleas. I believe that Dave Consiglio is the most qualified person for this position.

I have personally known Dave for 16 years. His quick wit, personal beliefs and values, and commitment to his friends and family are the qualities that I believe will make him an outstanding judge. He is driven, focused, loyal beyond a doubt, and has the grit and determination to see things through. He and his wife sacrificed greatly while Dave worked his way through law school, yet he never swayed or faltered.

Dave Consiglio’s patience, humility, integrity, steady demeanor, and the ability to think creatively will make him an outstanding judge and are the reasons he has my full support and vote.

There’s important election approaching. If as a judge you want somebody who is practical and firm and has everyday common sense, security and order, then you should cast your vote for Dave Consiglio Blair County judge.

Rob Dickson

I am writing in support of Dave Consiglio for Judge of the Blair County Court of Common Pleas. Dave has been my neighbor for 24 years and he is a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. I have often relied on Dave’s advice during our friendship. Regardless of the situation I am contemplating, Dave’s approach is always level-headed and well-reasoned. I can trust his opinion will be dispassionate, practical and logical. I believe these qualities and his almost 30 years’ of legal experience make him the most qualified candidate and that Blair County will benefit from his wisdom as a Judge. Please vote for Dave Consiglio on May 16th.

Dave Consiglio comes from a family that has done a lot for our community. Dave grew up learning the values of hard work and helping others who are less fortunate. Dave has been a highly successful attorney and is well respected by his colleagues. Having worked in 41 counties and five states over his 29 years in practice, Dave has vast experience in many areas of the law. Please join me in supporting Dave Consiglio for judge, a Blair County native who is a pro-life, pro-second amendment, constitutional conservative, and someone we can trust to be fair, honest, and impartial.

John H. Eichelberger, Jr.

I have been a member of the Blair County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations for 40 years.

This experience has provided me the opportunity to observe and learn the qualities that distinguish individuals as members of the Bench. Competent judges share the attributes of a quality legal education and legal experience, a demeanor of fairness and reasonableness, an association with the communities in which they serve, and common sense.

David Consiglio was educated at the University of Notre Dame and the University of North Carolina School of Law. He has practiced law throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in excess of 30 years. His experience is broad, and he presents himself as a reasonable person with common sense. His integrity is unquestioned. David Consiglio’s conservative values are a product of the community in which he was raised - being born in Altoona and a resident of Hollidaysburg. David Consiglio’s spotless legal reputation is not only based on his fundamental knowledge of the law, but also his common-sense application of that knowledge in an even-handed, reasonable manner.

I believe the residents of Blair County would like to have David Consiglio elected as Judge, but more than that, the residents of Blair County need to have Attorney Consiglio elected as a member of the Court of Common Pleas of Blair County.

A. Thomas Farrell, Esquire

Altoona

I am writing to lend my support and encourage Blair County voters to elect Dave Consiglio as Judge for the Blair County Court of Common Pleas. I have known Dave Consiglio for over 30 years professionally and personally. In addition to being eminently qualified for the position, Dave Consiglio will bring his strong work ethic and common-sense approach to the bench. Dave Consiglio understands the responsibility which comes with this position, and he will proudly serve the citizens of Blair County. The citizens of Blair County will greatly benefit by having Dave Consiglio on the bench. Please vote Dave Consiglio for Judge on May 16.

Thomas P. Finn

Altoona

Dave Consiglio has been a practicing attorney for nearly thirty years and has extensive courtroom experience, not only in Blair County, but in forty other counties and four states. He has spent a lot of time in the courtroom and knows the law. He was born and raised in Altoona and Hollidaysburg where he and his wife have raised four children. He is Christian and of the Catholic Faith and is dedicated to his family, friends and community. He is a Constitutional Conservative and is Pro-Life and Pro-Second Amendment. I know him personally and proudly and know him to be humble and respectful.

As Commonwealth Judge, Dave will follow the law and be fair and impartial. His knowledge and expertise will be of great benefit to Blair County.

I respectfully ask the citizens of Blair County to support Dave Consiglio as our next Judge in the Blair Count Court of Common Pleas.

Yvonne Gentry

Hollidaysburg

Blair County needs Dave Consiglio as judge. He is extremely qualified and has the temperament and character to serve the people of Blair County well. In the years I’ve known Dave he is truly a gentleman and a dependable friend that can be trusted. I will proudly vote for Dave and am asking you to vote for him as well.

Dave Helsel

On May 16th, I will have the honor of casting my vote for Dave Consiglio for Blair County Judge. If you’d kindly spare a few moments, I would like to tell you why I believe he deserves your vote, too.

It’s hard sometimes not to be cynical when it comes to politics and voting, and I believe the main reason for that is the candidates themselves. Pandering for votes and changing positions based on an audience has become so commonplace that it’s no wonder people are disenchanted with politicians.

The word “politician” could not be more antithetical to Dave Consiglio. I have known him my whole life, and I believe the most fitting way to describe him is a man of conviction. That’s not just his legal philosophy, it’s his philosophy in life. He will stand up for what he believes in without hesitation, and in the case of the law, he believes firmly that the Constitution is the supreme law of the land.

Living by his convictions does not necessarily mean he anyone will agree with him 100% of the time, but I have seen very few candidates foster such respect from voters of all backgrounds. He has proven this by gaining endorsements from Tea Partiers and Labor Unions alike.

The final thing I’ll say is that he is running with the sole purpose of making Blair County a better place. After three decades of a successful legal career, his focus is with the place he loves. Dave Consiglio believes that there is no better place to live than Blair County, and that is a sentiment he has shared with me on numerous occasions before even considering a run for office.

Please, take a few minutes out of your day on May 16th to vote for Dave Consiglio as one of your two next Blair County judges, and make sure this special place remains that way for posterity.

Brennan Hurd

Hollidaysburg

Full disclosure, Dave Consiglio is my brother-in-law. I think it had something to do with me marrying his sister. I’ve never personally given much credence to letters from family members endorsing political candidates. Family bias, while admirable, is still family bias.

I decided to write this letter because I am a concerned citizen and I see the erosion of authority and decency and fairness choking the fiber of a society upon which it has long thrived. It’s not thriving anymore. We need to do as much as we can to restore the really important things before we lose track of what they’ve meant and how lost we’ll be without them.

Dave Consiglio can be a pain-in-the-neck. But as I look at the qualities that really matter when I think of a judge, he truly checks all the boxes. He’s blatantly honest, unquestionably fair and has tremendously high regard for the law. He’s a Blair County guy through-and-through. If he was not a relative, I would still vote for him. I hope you will too.

Joe Hurd

This letter is for support of Dave Consiglio for Blair County Judge. I have known Dave for a while and he shows that he is a man of integrity and honor. Dave is a Constitutional Conservative with nearly 30 years of legal experience. The people of Blair County would benefit from his passion and knowledge. I hope when everyone who goes out to vote recognizes Dave and the commitment he has made to the County over the years. I fully support him for Election in May.

I’ve been a police officer for 30 years. The first 20 years I served with the Altoona City Police Department. For my last five years with APD, I led the Narcotics/Vice Division and was liaison to the AG’s Office for the Blair County Drug Task Force. I have worked with many magisterial district judges. Fred Miller has been one who I have gained a significant amount respect for. He has always gone the extra mile to pass on his knowledge and experience regarding the judicial laws and rules for a safer community. Fred Miller takes the extra steps to make sure everything is in accordance with the law and always offered advice and opportunities for people to change their lives and become more productive. A great deal of my law enforcement career was in the courtrooms of Blair County Court of Common Pleas. I believe Blair County needs Fred Miller now more than ever. In my opinion, Fred Miller is “the” person for the next Blair County Court of Common Pleas Judge.

Troy Johannides

Altoona

I have known Dave Consiglio for 27 years. I do not know anyone better suited to be a Blair County Judge. Dave will be prepared for each and every case he presides over. I have had experience with the Blair County court system in my 33 years of employment at the Blair County Prison. Dave is honest, sincere and will be fair and reasonable. His extensive career in the practice of law gives him all the tools necessary to do the job. Please vote and elect Dave Consiglio Blair County Court of Common Pleas Judge.

Dave Consiglio: Trusted. Respected. Common Sense.

The right man for the job.

I have been involved a long while now in volunteering as an elected member of our Blair County Republican Committee. The main reason I got involved was to help get good pro-life conservative Republican candidates elected to office and I am still involved in that mission today. I take the responsibility to carefully vet the candidates running each election seriously.

For Blair County Judge there are three good strong conservative pro-life, pro-second amendment candidates running, but I want to focus on why I am picking Dave Consiglio for Judge as my number one choice. First off, Dave is well qualified in all aspects of the position for Blair County Judge. Dave Consiglio grew up in Altoona & Hollidaysburg & currently lives in Hollidaysburg. This is his home and he is running for Judge because he is concerned about our community and the rise in crime in Blair County. He will use his extensive experience as a constitutional conservative and a lawyer with nearly 30 years of experience appearing in trial courts in 30-plus counties and four states to make a difference for the better in Blair County. This is such an important election. We need a good judge who is “fair and reasonable but will not yield on principle” (Dave’s flier). Dave also believes that each person appearing before him deserves respect, preparation and timeliness in the decision.

For Blair County Commissioner I am supporting Dave Kessling. Besides the fact that he is also a staunchly pro-life & pro-second amendment candidate, I appreciate his down to earth no nonsense candor & honesty. Dave Kessling is 61 & retired. He is running to serve and use his experience having overseen the PA Dept of Corrections security division as a former Chief of Security and 35 combined years of corrections / security experience to help the county. One way he plans to help improve the county is to create a 10-year blueprint to review maintenance and upgrades of county owned properties to prevent surprise tax hikes or spending increases. Dave is a husband & father & U.S. Air Force Veteran.

Please join me in supporting these well qualified candidates Dave Consiglio for Blair County Judge & Dave Kessling for Blair County Commissioner on May 16th!

I am writing in support of Dave Consiglio’s campaign for Blair County Judge in the Court of Common Pleas. Having known Consiglio for over 25 years, I know he will be fair, objective, and respectful to all. He has the intelligence, integrity, and temperament needed to be an effective judge and as a Blair County native, he cares about the area and the people and is committed to serving them. He also has the legal knowledge and necessary experience, with 30 years as a practicing attorney in Pennsylvania. Dave Consiglio is the clear choice for Judge in Blair County. Please join me in voting for Dave Consiglio for Judge on May 16.

Blair County deserves the best - so I would like to share with you all someone I know who is running for Blair County Judge, and his name is David Consiglio.

The first time I met him he impressed me as such a gentleman, humble, good humored, and funny, not realizing he was an attorney.

As years went by I learned more about him, such as he has practiced law for nearly 30 years. Having met various members of his family, I discovered he has been a life long Blair County resident, except for his college years, and has raised his family here. Once he decided to run for judge I learned he is pro-life, and pro-second amendment. Dave is the type of guy you would want as a friend, and better yet as a judge.

I believe Dave would be a firm, but fair judge, and would do his best for the residents of Blair County. Please consider voting for him in the upcoming primary!

I have spent my career doing my best to treat others fair, equal and consistent, and having pledged to the people that I will protect our Constitutional Rights, especially the 2nd Amendment. When we select our next Common Pleas Judge, these same values are very critical to our judicial system functioning properly.

We are blessed to have great choices for the upcoming elected positions in Blair County. We look for individuals who have the experience, integrity, values, to be leaders in our community.

I have known Fred Miller his entire Professional Career as Magisterially District Judge. He has been a role model and leader to this community, by putting into play these same values, in both his family and from the bench. Fred is an active member of our community. He has also been instrumental in developing and implementing proven effect programs, in an attempt to return individuals back into the community to lead positive and productive roles in society. His unwavering commitment to the preservation of citizens’ rights, especially in such chaotic times. I am honor to endorse Fred Miller for Blair County Common Pleas Judge.

Blair County needs individuals with strength and integrity presiding over our judicial system now more than ever. With his experience in the courtroom, knowledge of the law, and proven leadership as a District Judge, I believe firmly that he will continue the same committment as a Blair County Common Pleas Judge. I urge everyone who values their rights to join me in voting for Fred Miller for Blair County Common Pleas Judge.

Dave Consiglio is the most qualified candidate for Blair County Judge. I have known Dave for over 30 years. I have had the privilege to see him around his friends, family, and while practicing law in Blair Co. His education, legal experience, honesty, fairness, and conservative values are exactly what Blair County needs on the Bench.

Retired State Trooper Dave Snyder

In the upcoming election, there are two open seats for Blair County judge. I willingly share my endorsement of Dave Consiglio for one of these positions.

I initially met Dave more than 35 years ago when I hired him for employment during his summers home from college. After graduating from law school, he and his wife Lisa returned to Blair County to live and raise their family where Dave was born and raised, too. He has used his superior educational qualifications and legal intellect to establish a highly-respected legal career. In nearly 30 years, he has gained significant legal experience in virtually every area of the law. He has appeared in courts all over the Commonwealth, including all of the federal courts of Pennsylvania. Dave displays a relentless work ethic, ideal temperament and strong character making him well-qualified to serve as a judge. As a Constitutional Conservative, Dave values faith, family, and allegiance to the Constitution. He will be judicially fair and unyielding in principle — exactly the kind of judge we need.

When you cast your primary election vote on May 16th, join me in voting for Dave Consiglio for Blair County judge.
