Cove Forge Updates On Treatment Plant

Cove Forge submitted letters about its new treatment plant facility. After review, Jim Young of Stiffler-McGraw offered comments about the proposed treatment plant. Cove Forge is planning to use fill dirt to make the area bigger. The township needs to make sure they don’t use fill into the flood zone areas. The financial security for Cove Forge expires in August. Supervisors discussed having Solicitor Aimee Willett reach out to Cove Forge and see what the plans are regarding the financial security and proposed treatment plant.

“They know what they have to do,” Young said.

The SALDO (Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance) was presented following last month’s meeting in a seminar for township supervisors. The current SALDO has not been updated since 2013, and all parties — the solicitor, the engineer, and supervisors — wanted to have a more streamlined process for when residents want to develop in the township.

Chairman Joe Lansberry said that he had been looking at ordinance, and wants it “to be as easy as it can be for the citizens of the township.”

Supervisor Ed Clark made a motion to advertise for stone bids for summer with Craig Hamilton seconding. The motion passed.
