Friendship Fire Officials Say Millage Increase Vital For RS Fire Protection

Since 1894, the Friendship Volunteer Fire Company has been serving Roaring Spring, but company officials say that service could come to an end unless it receives public funding beyond donations and fundraiser support. Citing the rapidly rising costs of operating an efficient fire department, Friendship officials are asking the borough for a 1-mill property tax increase to help fund the borough’s fire protection.
