Local Citizen Dies

Jon B. Royer, one of Woodbury Township’s best known and foremost citizens, died at his home in Shellytown Friday morning at 5 o’clock. , death being due to complications following a brief illness. During his lifetime Mr. Royer was a farmer, a steam threshing machine operator, a hotel proprietor, and store manager at a mercantile in Yellow Springs.

Barnum and Bailey and Ringling Bros. big show was in Altoona on Thursday, and a goodly number of our population “went to see the elephant”.
