Herald of May 27, 1948

Herbert S. Bolger, president of the Blair County Commissioners and former Martinsburg athlete, will be the principal speaker on Memorial Day, when the new grandstand at the Memorial Park Athletic field will be dedicated.

In a special chapel service at the Morrison Cove High School, the Rev. A. Emmert Frederick, a member of the faculty, was honored by the senior class by having the 1948 edition of the “Pine Crest”, the school year book, dedicated to him.

Sportsmen and farmers are urged to bring the feet of crows shot this week in Blair County to Hollidaysburg Saturday night, to compete in the county-wide crow shoot.

Mr. and Mrs. Ross M. Clapper of New Enterprise, who recently returned from spending the winter in Florida, sold their New Enterprise home last week to Glenn Furry. They expect to go to Michigan again as in other years.
