Threat at the School

Herald of May 30, 2013

On Friday morning a threat was reported as students at the Williamsburg Community Elementary School arrived for classes. Students were evacuated to the high school gymnasium, but parents were not notified of the situation because of the failure of the email alert system used by the district. The public learned of the dismissal through local television stations. District officials were looking into options for notifying parents and guardians in the future.

Spring Cove School District’s preliminary budget would eliminate three or four positions despite a tax increase.
