Christine S. "Chrissy" DeHoyos

Christine S. “Chrissy” DeHoyos, 53, of Williamsburg, passed away Friday morning, June 2, 2023, at her residence.

She was born Sept. 15, 1969, in South Bound Brook, New Jersey, daughter of Charles M. “Chuck” and Maire (Viire) Mumich. On Sept. 21, 2000, she married David DeHoyos at Yellow Springs Lutheran Church, rural Williamsburg.

Surviving along with her husband are two sons: Tristen L. DeHoyos and Matthew C. “Chico” DeHoyos, both of Williamsburg; her mother, Maire Mumich; two sisters: Heidi M. Johnson (Rick) and Katherine A. Verespy (Chris); two nieces; three nephews; and numerous extended family members and friends that she held dear to her heart.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles M. “Chuck” Mumich and mother-in-law, Virtudes A. Casselberry.

Chrissy was a 1987 graduate of Williamsburg High School and went on to receive her associate degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 1989. Chrissy then received her Expanded Function Dental Assistant Certificate from Greater Altoona Career & Technology Center in conjunction with Mount Aloysius College. She was employed at Mountain Family Dental of State College.

She attended Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg.

Chrissy enjoyed camping, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.

A funeral was held Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg. Pastor Tiffany Marvich officiated. Private inurnment was held at Yellow Springs Lutheran Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.

In lieu of the flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in honor of Chrissy be made to the America Cancer Society, PO Box 862, Carnegie, PA 15106.
