Students Receive Chromebooks

Spring Cove School District Superintendent Dr. Robert Vadella assured the public that the “One to One” program involving sixth to twelfth grade students receiving Chromebook laptop computers, was the cheapest option the district had. He said the Chromebook initiative was $54,000 cheaper than the estimated $217,000 cost to upgrade the existing computers.

The front wheel of an experimental airplane buckled on landing, causing the Altoona-Blair County Airport to close a runway while emergency crews responded. The plane flipped over after a “hard” touchdown. The Martinsburg Fire Company responded and covered the plane with foam to prevent a fire. The FFA was investigating.

Martinsburg Borough and North Woodbury Township were planning a community workshop to discuss a Joint Municipal Comprehensive Plan. The municipalities were looking for community input and feedback on the plan’s preliminary goals and objectives.
