Dale S. Hoover, 80, of Martinsburg, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at home.
He was born the son of Charles and Regis Hoover of Curryville. Both preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife Carol (Dauberman) Hoover. He was the father of two daughters, Mandy Webb and Christi Hoover Seidel. He was blessed with six grandchildren: Ella, Clara, Lyla, and Noah Webb, and Kai and Phoenix Seidel.
Dale graduated from Morrison Cove High School in 1960. He attended the University of Cincinnati, where he studied engineering.
He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1965 and served as a fighter pilot in the Vietnam War. This experience fulfilled his lifelong desire to fly.
Military service was followed by more than 30 years working the family business of refrigeration service for farmers and businesses. He also worked as a real estate agent and appraiser. In his final years, he did volunteer work for Hope Community Church in Altoona.
Dale was a born again Christian. His encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ totally changed his life. He found truth, meaning, hope, identity, and destiny in his life.
Dale was a strong Christian and a true Patriot. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
A Celebration of Life is planned for July 2023. Details will be posted on Mandy Webb’s Facebook page.
