Glen B. Zimmerman, 91, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Bethany Village.

He was born Sept. 28, 1931, in Hopewell Township, Bedford County, the son of the late Virgil R. and Laura K. (Baker) Zimmerman.

Glen worked as a carpenter for Replogle and Sons Builders. He was a member of the Mechanicsburg Sportsman Association and former board member, NRA, American Legion Post 109, Mechanicsburg and Mount Olivet United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg, where he served as a trustee for many years.

Glen was very active in his community. He was very proud of his time he volunteered with United Methodist Work Camp Mission in Kentucky in 2003. Glen was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Glen is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Patricia Joan (Hall) Zimmerman, two children, Mark H. Zimmerman (Melissa) of Carlisle and Theresa M. Shull (Jeffrey) of Carlisle; sister, Mary Nadine Zimmerman of Dekalb, IL; seven grandchildren, Kurt (Jillian), Brett (Audrey), Jesse (Leana), Nicholas (Kirsten), Benjamin (Ingrid), Carson (Caroline), Trevor (Erica) and his six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three siblings, Phillip Zimmerman, Daryl Zimmerman and Doris Batzel and a grandson Scott.

A funeral was held Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Mount Olivet United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg. Burial took place at Longsdorf Cemetery.
