State Police Commissioner Frank Noonan presented the State Police’s highest honor, the Medal of Honor, to Trooper First Class Timothy A. Strohmeyer, Troop G, Hollidaysburg, for his heroic efforts during the Dec. 21 shooting rampage in Geeseytown which left four people dead. Trooper First Class Strohmeyer also received the Purple Heart and Trooper of the Year Award.

John Sell, a graduate of Central High School’s Class of 1985 and Wendell Gahagan, class of 1961 were honored as “Distinguished Alumni” by the Central High School Alumni Association.
