HACP Makes Deal with WJAC TV

The Hollidaysburg Area Community Partnership (HACP) Board of Directors meeting for June was primarily focused on marketing committee issues.

The May spring video for Hollidaysburg merchants is not going to happen with the team from Hollidaysburg Area High School. Lauryn Conway volunteered to do the video herself. She will meet with Board Member Becki Hollen and Marketing Director Alyssa Barilar regarding video content.

Blossoms in the ‘Burg was held on May 13. The event was extremely well attended.

The Member Mixer was held May 24 at SLY Photography from 5:30p.m. to 8:30p.m. HACP covered $25 of a $50 cost for a professional headshot. HACP will partner with the Altoona Area Business Community for a mixer/event in September at a business to be determined in Hollidaysburg.

Third in the Burg started Friday, June 16. This will happen the third Friday of every month. There is shopping, music, and an evening farmer’s market. HACP will sponsor all music for all of the Third in the Burg’s.

Story Walk kicked off Memorial Day weekend. Forty-four people have downloaded the form for the event from the website. Tiffany Stuckey went on Studio 814 of WTAJ to promote the event. HACP will continue to share the event and a number of pictures of people participating in Story Walk.

WJAC TV made a commercial proposal; WJAC submitted a proposal to HACP for a four- or six-week campaign. HACP will contact all members to see if they may be interested in participating for a portion of the cost. The partnership chose to go with the option of paying $1,000 and the remaining $1,600 will be divided among at least 6 members and no more than 10.

The Membership Committee announced that they will visit potential members once the current list is updated. The committee will distribute membership packets to board members to deliver to new members as they join. For businesses joining after July 1, the membership fee will be $50 carrying through to the end of the year.

Director of Marketing Melanie Ramsey asked the HACP to sponsor the Downtown Live concerts on behalf of the Borough of Hollidaysburg. The Partnership voted to sponsor them in the amount of $500.

In unfinished business, the partnership is moving forward with handling Family Fun Day. In Diamond Dollars, HACP members will visit businesses to discuss their participation. HACP will create a link on Zeffy for participants to purchase the gift cards (Diamond Dollars) online. The partnership will create a video of someone using dollars to explain how they work. Flyers will be taken to area businesses. The next board meeting is scheduled for July 12 at 8 a.m. in the community room of the Hollidaysburg Area Public Library.
