A program to distribute backpacks with enough food for a weekend to children in the Spring Cove School District was in the planning stages. Martha Disney, who organized the program, said participating students would pick up a backpack on Friday and return it to the school on Monday to be refilled for the following weekend.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Musselman, Sr. of Martinsburg celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Mr. Musselman retired from the Martinsburg Shoe Factory and his wife Phyllis retired from New Printing Co, Claysburg.
