Fire Damages Stores

Fire swept through the heart of Roaring Spring business district, destroying the Family Fashions Store, formerly Klevans) and heavily damaging the G&M 5¢ to $1.00 store. Nearby businesses received smoke damage. Roaring Spring Fire Chief Mearle G. Pote said that when he first came on scene, flames were shooting out of front of the Family Fashions building. One fireman was injured when bricks from the G&M store fell on him.
