Genealogical Society Speaker to Present On Glen White

The Blair County Genealogical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, 2023 at the Roller Hojeth Memorial Library, 431 Scotch Valley Rd. Hollidaysburg.

The speaker for August will be Kevin Stiver, who will present on his book “Glen White, PA: The Town that was Forgotten in the Allegheny Mountains.” Glen White is located approximately two miles beyond the Horseshoe Curve, and was a mining town that had a long history in the coke and coal industry. When the town was flourishing, it had a population of about 250 people.
