Local Teachers Compete

Herald of Aug. 16, 1973

Three Spring Cove teachers, Miss Sandra Petersen, Miss Donna Weyandt and Miss Ann George were partners in the ownership of trotter horses named Triplet T Hint and Triple T Happy. The three travel with the horses to county fairs and raceways throughout Pennsylvania to compete in races. Miss Petersens’s father, Ernest, drives the horses.

One bid for fuel oil was received by the Spring Cove School District. Gulf Oil Company said the price would be 14.32 cents per gallon, up from 12.35 cents from last term, with a warning that future prices would be subject to change due to the national fuel shortage. Oil would be limited to the amount purchased during the same time last year.

Dick’s Diner in Murrysville sent a letter to the Central High School principal commending the school on the good behavior of its band members when they stopped at the diner for a meal while on a trip to the VFW Convention parade.
