Shopping Center Discussed

Richard W. Nicodemus of Martinsburg met with the Roaring Spring Zoning Board of Appeals to discuss the possibility of building a shopping center along the Roaring Spring bypass. The site was a 10-acre tract between the new United Church of Christ and the Steward and Hall bus garage. The area was zoned for residential use, and would need a variance for a commercial center.

Todd Bush, a player on the Martinsburg Little League team earned top prize in candy sales. For his effort he received a set of walkie talkies. Vince Hall was second and received a radio.
