Roaring Spring
Patricia Joan “Pat” Horner, 96, of Roaring Spring, passed away Wednesday morning, May 3, 2023, at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center.
She was born March 30, 1927, in East Freedom, daughter of the late Joseph E. and Frances L. (Imler) Dodson. On July 24, 1948, she married Eugene L. “Tag” Horner in St. Patrick’s Church, Newry, and he preceded her in death Sept. 15, 1969, following 21 years of marriage.
She is survived by a son, Mark E. Horner (Betsy) of Edmond, OK; two grandsons: Matthew Horner (Aileen) of Camarillo, CA and Mark “Tag” Horner (Jenni Allison) of Oklahoma City, OK ; and five great-grandsons: Tripp, Cash, Aiden, Adam and Tucker Horner.
She was the last of her immediate family, being preceded in death by a sister, Lois Marie Dodson; two brothers: Jack and Carl “Tucker” Dodson; and a special friend, John Kauffman.
Pat was a 1945 graduate of Roaring Spring High School. She retired from New Printing Company in Roaring Spring, where she worked in the dark room developing photographs.
She was the longest living member of St. Thomas More Church in Roaring Spring and an active member of the Red Hat Society. Pat was also a member of the Nason Hospital Auxiliary and a longtime volunteer for the Nason Hospital Gift Shop, Roaring Spring.
Pat loved spending time with family and friends and also enjoyed dressing to the nines, no matter what the occasion.
Friends will be received from 10 until 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023, at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, where a celebration of life service will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Father Allen P. Zeth celebrant.
