Central Golf Gets Second at Happy Valley Invitational

The Central Dragon Golf team kicked off its 2023 campaign last Thursday with a trip to the Happy Valley Invitational at Penn State's white course. The Dragons took home a second place finish out of 18 teams in the AA field with a team score of 309, finishing 3 strokes behind St. Joseph's Academy. Griffin Snowberger captured the individual championship, shooting a 1 under 71 and winning in a card off against West Shamokin's Alex Talmadge. Nick Baum finished in a tie for fourth place with a 73. Zach Oakes shot a 78, good enough for 18th. Freshman Cody Clapper rounded out the scoring with an 87 in his first high school match.

The Dragons begin their Laurel Highlands Conference schedule this week with a trip to Bellefonte.
