School Comes to Terms

The Spring Cove School Board has come to terms with its teachers on a two-year agreement covering salaries, fringe benefits, and working conditions. Most of the 133 teachers will receive a $500 pay increase in each of the two years of the contract. The starting salary moves from $6,900 to $7,100 this term.

Mrs. Thelma Bergstresser of Roaring Spring, administrator of Nason Hospital, became a fellow in the American College of Hospital Administrators during convocation ceremonies at the Conrad Hilton Hotel, Chicago.

Adults who live in the Spring Cove, Williamsburg and Claysburg-Kimmel school districts are eligible to attend evening classes at the Altoona Vo-Tech now that the three districts are members of the vo-tech jointure. Residents of these districts can enroll in any of the evening courses for $10 instead of the normal $25 fee.

The Roaring Spring Zoning Board of Appeals granted a variance for a shopping center and bowling alley to be built along the Roaring Spring bypass.
