Fall Activities Approaching at Claysburg Area Public Library

As children prepare for the new school year, the Claysburg Area Public Library is scheduling programs for this school year. There are some educational preschool programs ready for the children to learn and enjoy.

The library will begin with “What’s hatching? Monarchs” on Monday, Aug. 28 at 11 a.m. with the Blair County Conservation Department. The library will receive monarch eggs and milkweed and learn about hatching monarchs.

On Thursday, Aug. 31, at 11 a.m., Canoe Creek Park will present the “Friends of the Forest” program. Children will hear stories and learn about the special forest animals.

Learning @ the Library will begin the next week, Sept. 7, at 11 a.m. This program is held every Thursday. It is a preschool program which includes learning letters, numbers, colors and shapes. Participants sing songs and do activities related to the letter or number of the week.

Lego Club will begin at 6 p.m. on Sept. 7. Please call the library at (814) 239-2782 to register for these programs.

Another program coming up at the library include Blair County Conservation Department’s Mason Bee Houses class on Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. There is no cost to this class. Participants will need to bring a container similar to a cardboard milk carton to make a bee house.

The library also has a book club for our adults on the second Monday evening of every month at 5:30 pm. Come and join for some stimulating discussions. Keep informed of other events by checking Claysburg Area Public Library’s Facebook page.
