Local historian Julia Plummer Schokker (shown right) presented an homage to the WWII veterans, the local heroes, both alive and those killed in action during the war.
The presentation, which took place on Aug. 16, had a special focus on the memorials to WWII. This was the first part in a series of lectures covering multiple wars and multiple memorials.
Plummer Schokker said there are so many memorials around town, and all you see on a memorial is a name, sometimes the unit and maybe the date that they were killed in action.
