Roaring Spring borough Council appointed Milton “Mickey” R. Fields, a patrolman, as assistant chief of police at its September meeting. He was a part-time officer at Roaring Spring for seven years before being appointed as a full time officer in June.

PA State Police made an arrest in connection with an attempted burglary in Williamsburg several weeks ago. The same man was charged in connection with five burglaries in the Schellsburg area. Charges are also expected to be filed against the suspect in Centre and Cambria counties as well.
