Lady Dragon Soccer Triumphs in Undefeated Week

The Lady Dragon Soccer team faced three opponents throughout the week and found victory against each. The Dragons found a 1-0 victory over the Philipsburg-Osceola Lady Mountaineers, a 2-1 victory over the Bellefonte Lady Red Raiders, and a 4-2 victory over the Huntingdon Lady Bearcats.

The Dragons’ sole goal against the Mountaineers came from Kira Trexler at the 24-minute mark in the first half. Goalkeeper Lacey Ripka led the Dragon defense to a shutout with four saves.

The Dragons had an early, first-half goal against the Red Raiders by Bethanie Kensinger assisted by Carli Hart. Giving up a single goal, the game went to overtime, where Trexler scored on the penalty kick to win the game for the Dragons. Central’s defensive unit had an astounding game, with Goalkeeper Ripka having 10 saves throughout the game.

Against the Bearcats, the Dragons had an early lead with a goal by Lakkyn Dibert assisted by Paiton Campbell just six minutes in. Trexler scored on a penalty kick at the 15-minute mark before Dibert had an unassisted goal to close out the half with a 3-1 score. Hart scored the sole goal of the second half for the Dragons with an assist by Trexler for the Dragons’ victory. Goalkeeper Ripka made five saves, including a particularly spectacular diving, one-handed save near the post.

Sitting with a record of 10-4, the Dragons now prepare to face the Tyrone Lady Golden Eagles and the Bishop Guilfoyle Lady Marauders in the upcoming week.
