Morrisons Cove Memorial Park officials were looking for ways to generate more income for the park. A cool rainy summer led to reduced income from the pool, and rentals of park facilities were down as well. The board was asking the public to use the park facilities more and donate to the annual fund drive to keep the park open.

The Altoona Water Authority asked their customers in the Hollidaysburg and Freedom Township areas not to drink or otherwise consume tap water due to a “vague” threat made against the water source that supplies those areas. Wal-Mart, Turkey...
