Mummers Parade Held

Approximately 250 people marched in the third annual mummers parade in Martinsburg. The parade was led by the Martinsburg High school band, with the second section following the Cove High Band. The parade was sponsored by the Martinsburg Boosters Association.

Ralph Stoner Bowers, 39, former borough secretary and police chief, was unanimously elected burgess of Martinsburg by the borough council.

The Williamsburg Women’s Civic Club is conducting a fundraising campaign to collect $1,075 to establish a free public library in the Williamsburg Municipal Building.
