Though the last day to register to vote in the Nov. 7 election was Monday, Oct. 23, there is still plenty for voters to take care of before the polls open.

General elections are always held the first Tuesday, after the first Monday, in November. This is a municipal election because there are no federal or state offices on the ballot. This happens in odd numbered years.
