Mid Penn Bank, Penn State Health Host No Shave November Fundraiser

Mid Penn Bank is partnering with Penn State Health’s Department of Urology for the eighth annual No Shave November fundraiser. This partnership has raised more than $620,000 for prostate cancer research since the first month-long campaign was held in 2016.

Employees from both organizations come together every November and ditch their razors to bring awareness to the cause by growing out their facial hair. The campaign will raise money for the prostate cancer research performed by Dr. Jay D. Raman, interim chair of the Department of Urology at Penn State Health.

“We are once again excited to join forces with Penn State Health for another year of the No Shave November campaign,” said Mid Penn Bank President and CEO Rory G. Ritrievi. “This is our eighth year of conducting this campaign with Penn State Health and we’re honored to continue making a lasting impact on prostate cancer research conducted by my dear friend Dr. Jay Raman and his incredible team.”

Gifts from community partners, as well as from Mid Penn Bank, help drive Penn State Health’s mission to serve and lead in areas of research, development and success.

Penn State Health recently commemorated Mid Penn Bank’s continued support and fundraising efforts by dedicating its second-floor outpatient clinic the Mid Penn Bank Outpatient Clinic at the Penn State Cancer Institute.

The No Shave November fundraiser will begin on Nov. 1 and conclude on Nov. 30. Mid Penn Bank is committed to raising $1.1 million for Penn State Health by 2026 under Ritrievi’s leadership.

What Is No-Shave November?

What is No-Shave

November?

No—Shave November is a month-long journey during which participants forgo shaving and grooming in order to evoke conversation and raise cancer awareness. Learn more about how you can get involved and start getting hairy!

The Concept

The goal of No-Shave November is to grow awareness by embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose, and letting it grow wild and free. Donate the money you typically spend on shaving and grooming to educate about cancer prevention, save lives, and aid those fighting the battle.

Get Involved

Participate by growing a beard, cultivating a mustache, letting those legs go natural, and skipping that waxing appointment. Put down your razor and set up your own personal No-Shave November fundraising page. If you’re not ready to get hairy, sit back and support someone who is.

The Rules

The rules of No-Shave November are simple: put down your razor for 30 days and donate your monthly hair-maintenance expenses to the cause. Strict dress-code at work? Don’t worry about it! We encourage participation of any kind; grooming and trimming are perfectly acceptable.
