Area Cross Country Stars Succeed at States

The PIAA Cross Country State Championships took place on Saturday, Nov. 4. Runners traveled to Hershey for the event.

Central Sophomore Lanee Berkhimer placed 7th overall with a finish time of 19:56 in the 1A race. Last year, as a freshman, Berkhimer landed the 10th place spot at the state championships.

Central's Braden Allison competed in the boys 2A race and placed 165th.

Northern Bedford's Savanna Hershberger placed 37th with a time of 21:16 in the 1A race. This is the senior's third year at states and her best performance. Hershberger was the District V girls 1A champion.
