School Extends Contract

Herald of Nov. 21, 2013

The Spring Cove School District extended the contract of superintendent Dr. Robert Vadella through June 30, 2017. The vote by the board to extend was unanimous, but members of the public expressed concerns about Vadella’s management of the district.

The Roaring Spring Borough Council planned a public hearing on new ordinances that will forbid keeping farm animals in the borough. Several members in the community were asking that they be permitted to raise chickens within the borough limits, but council members disagreed.

Outgoing Claysburg-Kimmel School Board members Vernon Walter, Barbara Garver and Dennis Cowher were honored for serving ten years or more on the board. At the November meeting a plaque was unveiled with their names on it, as well as former member Stanely Finnegan. The board will honor future members who served for 10 years or more by adding their names to the plaque.
