Evelyn K. Kephart

Evelyn Kay Kephart, 80, went home to be with the Lord Sept. 15, 2023.

Kay was born Jan. 6, 1943, in East Sharpsburg, a daughter of the late John and Betty (Mock) Berkey.

She was preceded in death by her husband David Kephart Sr., and a brother Robert Berkey.

She is survived by two children: Sheri Koelle of Wimauma, Fla. and David Kephart, Jr., of Hollidaysburg; two grandsons: Ian Koelle (Cassidy) and Colby Koelle, all of Fla .; two sisters: Pat Dick and Barb Mattern, both of Roaring Spring; a brother: John Berkey of CO., and numerous nieces and nephews.

She graduated from Central High School in 1961. She was an exceptional artist and enjoyed teaching others how to paint. She had a heart of gold and was always there for her family, friends and neighbors. Her faith in God was an inspiration to us all and she will be sadly missed until we meet her again.

Our family would like to thank Matt (Jessica) Burns, Shirley Cooper and the wonderful staff at UPMC Altoona for their prayers and support.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, at Renew Church Altoona, Pastor Matt Burns will be officiating.
