Cove Native Dies

J. Leonard Replogle, a native of New Enterprise who became a leading steel executive, died at the age of 72 at the Savoy-Plaza Hotel on Thanksgiving night. At 13 years old he survived the Johnstown Flood, and later went to work for the Cambria Steel Company. He moved up in the steel industry, creating the Replogle Steel Company. He aided in the construction of a high school and grade school that bear his name in New Enterprise.
