'Greatest Game' Joy Short-Lived

Central Dives Right Back into Play

The irony of having just won the greatest game he ever played and his teammates have ever experienced is that Hunter Smith isn't getting to really savor it like a slice of turkey with gravy and stuffing.

Not yet, at least. It'll keep, like those Thanksgiving leftovers.

"It was a big win, but you have to clear the slate. You're starting from zero again," said Smith, Central High School's all-state senior linebacker and standout running back, a day after he scored six touchdowns - including the game-winner - and made a team-high 11 tackles in the Scarlet Dragons' double-overtime District 6-9...
