A pre-Thanksgiving storm knocked down power lines in some parts of the Cove when ice accumulating from freezing rain brought down tree limbs. At one point Valley REC had 6,400 reported outages. Most homes had service restored by Thanksgiving Day.

Williamsburg Borough Manager Perry Clapper retired after 44 years of service to the borough. His last council meeting was on Dec. 2, and after the meeting Clapper was presented with a cake.
