A vehicle accident on Monday morning east of Martinsburg resulted in a power outage to some residents of the Martinsburg and Clover Creek areas. A truck heading east on Route 164 lost control and jackknifed. It ran off the road and struck a utility pole, shearing it off. The accident knocked out power to the Martinsburg well field and the Hoover Drive Sewage pump. Borough employees had to manually pump the sewage and haul it to the treatment plant.
