Central Wrestling Looking at Better Numbers for the 2023-4 Season

Coach's name: David Marko

Number of years as head coach: 10th season at Central, 28th season overall

League: 1-8

Last year's record: 1-18

Returning starters/letterwinners: Waldims Benitez, Avery Campbell, Kasey Heidler, Kaden Horn, Thaide Mickel, John Pulcine, Isaac Smith, Mason Wagner, Camdyn Wenerick, Bailey Wilt

Newcomers: Connor Boyles, Felix Diaz (172), Eli Conrad (138), Cort Conley (152), John Green (285), Cody Clapper (152), Brooks Matthews (107), Blair Miller (172), Joel Morris (126), Carson Mowery (114)

Strengths: We have much better numbers this year after a string of bad luck the past couple years. We have some inexperienced wrestlers who have had great success in Jr. High.

Concerns: Depth will always be a concern. We have a very young and inexperienced line-up that will need guys to grow up quickly.

Overall outlook: If the experienced guys can lead the way and the younger guys can step up, then we should have a solid season.

Team goals: Qualify for District Duals and advance multiple wrestlers deep into the post season.

Team captains: To be determined

Assistant coaches: Randy Bussard, Jerry Swab, T.J. Mickel, Jason Wasko, Larry Himes, Tyler Biesinger
