School Board Calls Meeting
Herald of Jan. 30, 2014
Exactly one week after forming a Citizens’ Advisory Committee, the Claysburg-Kimmel School Board called a special meeting to address changes regarding the new committee. On Jan. 15, the school board unanimously approved the formation of a committee that will “find the cause of declining grades and test scores and to get remediation and changes in place.”
Claysburg PAST (Preserving artifacts, stories and traditions) had a new concept in its history tours on Saturday, April 26. The three-hour bus tour would cover the Queen, Klahr, Bullscreek and Friesville areas. The tour would start at the Claysburg fire hall with the first bus departing at 10 a.m., and the remainder of the buses departing 30 minutes apart. Buses would tour the area and also stop at the former Queen School, Upper Claar Church of the Brethren and Claysburg- Kimmel Elementary School for 30 minutes at each stop.
