Arlene F. Kagarise

Arlene F. Kagarise, 89, of New Enterprise, passed away Jan. 17, 2024 at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center – Roaring Spring.

She was born Jan. 14, 1935, at home; daughter of the late Edwin C. and Grace E. (Eshelman) Fletcher.

On Aug. 28, 1955, in New Enterprise, she was united in marriage to Orlo W. Kagarise; he preceded her in death July 12, 2004.

Arlene was a member of the Bell Seventh Day Baptist Church and the Southern Cove Fire Company Auxiliary. She enjoyed church bible studies, reading and tending to her flower beds.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Orlo; and siblings: Larry Fletcher, Edwin “Ted” Fletcher, Barbara Fletcher, and Sharon Watkins.

She is survived by a daughter, Jada T. Kagarise of Alum Bank; son, Brian K. Kagarise (Deb) of Hummelstown; grandchildren: Tracy Carver, Tanya Darrow, Daniel Kagarise, Jennifer Roberts, and Evan Kagarise; and great-grandchildren: Emily, Gavin, Jackson, Luke, and Sterling.

A funeral was held Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, at Bell Seventh Day Baptist Church, Salemville. Pastor Darwin Steele officiated. Interment was in Salemville Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff of Nason Hospital and Arlene’s neighbors for their help and care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Arlene’s name can be made to the Bell Seventh Day Baptist Church.
